Free WhatsApp QR code generator
Enter a WhatsApp number and an optional first message. The code opens a chat with that number when scanned. It is built in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.
Fill in the form and your code appears here.
A WhatsApp code is static: it holds the wa.me link directly and works without LimeQR.
How to use it
- Enter the number in international format with the country code. Spaces, dashes and the plus sign are removed for you.
- Optionally add a message that will be waiting in the chat box, for example a product name or an order reference.
- Download the code as SVG or PNG and test it with your own phone.
Questions
What does the code contain?
A link of the form https://wa.me/<number>?text=<message>, the official WhatsApp click-to-chat link. The number is digits only, with no plus sign.
Does the person scanning need to save my number?
No. The link opens a chat with the number directly.
Does this QR code expire?
The code itself does not expire, because it holds the link directly and nothing sits in between. It keeps working as long as that WhatsApp number does.
Can I change the message later?
Not on a printed static code: the message is part of the code. To change a destination after printing you need a dynamic code.
Need to change the destination after printing?
LimeQR dynamic codes point to a short link you can edit. Change the destination after printing, paid once: $19.
